Watch your mailbox – new donor requests are out!
Busy times this week around the Friends of Fort Ward kitchen table. We’ve been stuffing envelopes left and right, making our first-ever neighborhood-wide mailing for the Fort Ward Community Hall campaign.
As we face our first substantial outlay in our plan to restore Fort Ward’s historic bakery building — approximately $18,000 for city permit fees – we’re asking new donors to step up and join our cause with a tax-deductible contribution.
Whatever we raise above that amount will go toward the actual building renovation, and help us meet the challenge of several matching grants we have in the works.
Please watch your mail for a pledge sheet and respond as you can, with checks payable to “Friends of Fort Ward.”
If you don’t receive a letter and a pledge sheet but would like to, PM us through our social media page (and please Like us while you’re there) or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll send one your way. Or you can download one from the site.
(We also welcome contributions from outside the neighborhood, as the community hall will be managed by our partners, the Bainbridge Island Park District, and available for use by all islanders.)
We’re glad to answer any and all questions about the Fort Ward Community Hall project, and give tours of the bakery building so you can see firsthand what a great project we have going in our little neighborhood.
This is where things really start to get fun. Please watch your mail, and join us.
