Thanks to all of our neighbors who came to the Friends of Fort Ward holiday open house at the bakery building Sunday.
Folks braved wet skies in the narrow window between the Seahawks game and Sunday Night Football to pay a visit. We greeted familiar faces and made some new friends as well in an afternoon of holiday treats and good cheer — a great preview of what the building will offer once it’s restored and dedicated for use as Fort Ward Community Hall. We also displayed some new historical images from our growing Fort Ward archive, conversation starters all.
Our fall fundraiser continued with the sale of commemorative Fort Ward bakery building prints by Alex Sanso (which are going fast — order yours today!) and our popular new coffee mug design. Congratulations to Chris Dew for winning the raffle for a print! And thanks to everyone who purchased mugs for stocking stuffers.
Happy holidays from Friends of Fort Ward. Watch this space on Wednesday for our next announcement, which might just involve another grant award ….
