Our Fort Ward Youth Advisory Committee has been canvasing the neighborhood over the holiday break, and residents have been very generous.
We’ve raised pledges of more than $6,000 so far, with more commitments rolling in by the day.
These gifts include two $1,000 pledges and three $500 commitments, along with a number of hundred-dollar pledges from Fort Ward residents. Any amount gets us closer to our goal and is greatly appreciated.
Overall, we’ve made great progress toward our first benchmark of $30,000 in pledges, or 10 percent of the estimated project cost. Once we reach the $30K mark, the Bainbridge Island Parks Foundation will become our fiscal agent and manage all funds raised.
This first round of pledges will not be due until June 2015. And remember that all pledges are 100 percent tax deductible!
